Hi! My name is Nyles Green. I'm a recent graduate from the University of Washington majoring in Community, Environment, and Planning (CEP). CEP is an interdisciplinary major where students engage with materials in a collaborative and holistic learning environment to gain skills and knowledge that helps us be active leaders in our communities. During my time in CEP, my focus was urban design and planning. My interest in urban design led me to minor in Urban Ecological Design where I took an interest in landscape architecture and the relation between people and the environments we inhabit everyday. Because of CEP and its emphasis in intentional learning, I was able to gain the skills necessary to intern at the Seattle Department of Transportation as a Community Outreach Intern.
I've also been fortunate to be involved with music for a majority of my life. I began playing the trombone in middle school and have continued to play to present. Through music, I was able to find a tight-knit community in the Husky Marching Band. For my senior year, I was one of the band's Drum Majors and had the opportunity to lead in the 2019 Rose Bowl Parade and perform in the 2019 Rose Bowl Halftime.
